A qualified integrative counsellor, based in Northampton.

Passionate and dedicated to supporting young people, adults and their families in overcoming emotional and psychological difficulties, through the provision of high quality, professional therapy.

I provide a friendly, safe and trusting environment built on compassion, respect and honest communication, where you can freely explore your thoughts and feelings, without fear of judgment.

 

I am an integrative counsellor.  In simple terms, this means, I work creatively with a range of modalities, such as, person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), gestalt and attachment theory. 

 

Consequently, our work together can be tailored to suit your needs and focused on what you choose to bring, which can change from session to session.  This offers a more personalised and effective experience.

Counselling does this by using therapeutic interventions and coping strategies to make the following changes:

  • Addressing perfectionism and overcoming procrastination

  • Dispelling the shadows of depression and rediscovering the capacity for joy.

  • Experiencing increased support during life transitions, grief, or loss.

  • Confronting the tendency to please others excessively and establishing firmer relational boundaries.

  • Placing less reliance on external opinions and focusing more on personal values.

  • Healing past wounds or finding peace with personal history.

  • Enhancing self-esteem and gaining the ability to lead life on one's own terms.

  • Gaining insights into how childhood patterns influence current self and relationships.

  • Acquiring the skills to comprehend and embrace one's own sensitivity and vulnerability.

  • Diminishing anxiety levels and bolstering the capacity to handle stress effectively.

It's important to note that the effectiveness of counselling may vary from person to person and the success of the process depends on factors such as the individual's willingness to engage in the therapeutic process and the quality of the therapeutic relationship.

I understand how challenging life can be at times and that battling through alone can make it even harder.  I am here to let you know that you don’t need to struggle alone or in silence.  I care and want to support you in navigating through those difficulties, regain control and find direction.

 

My aim is to empower you to make positive changes in your life, so that you can achieve your goals and live the life that you desire and build resilience.
